Subject: beamstop for GIXS multi-sample chamber (Nealey chamber)
This item presents documentation regarding the beamstop in the GIXS vacuum environment for multiple samples.

Bstopx and bstopz are Micos/Micronix VT-21L (26 mm travel, vacuum version) translation stages. Driven by Phytron SINCOS drivers. Recommended current is 0.25 A driving current, holding current set to < half the driving current. SINCOS allows continuous variation of the driving current and holding current via two separate trimpots, Idrive and Istop. After failure and refurbishment of bstopx and bstopz (2015-3 cycle), now being driven with Idrive just less than first tick mark. Istop at zero. Initial coil resistances on each stage after return from Micronix: 21 Ohms. (on DB-9 connector, upper left pins of top row of 5 pins, are 2 pairs of contacts to motor coils).

Bstopy is a different Micronix stage, same travel but more compact. Requires separate driver MMC-200 from Micronix, interfaced with MOXABCDA unit. The MMC-200 connects via RJ11 (phoe cable) and adapter to DB-9 to MOXA unit's RS-232 output. Wiring of the adapter as specified in attachment 2.
