Recent updates to this elog:

https://8id.xray.aps.anl.gov/elog/8-ID/609 Scan sweeps from Joe S.

Tested new unit on September 5, 2017.
One should be careful as it can output 211 V.

RJ45 to D9 connector requires wiring below:
RJ45 pin D9 pin
4 5
5 2
6 3
The 2400 is on asyn17 (Third IP-Octal / First Port).
After setting the communication with the front panel
to 38400 bauds, with 8 data bits, the unit responds.
(made serial set up consistent with http://8id.xray.aps.anl.gov/elog/8-ID/363/2)
Was able to enable the output (blue light on) and apply 1V
The paper quick start manual is available near the log books in 8-ID-E
and in PDF files in /home/beams/8IDEUSER/Dufresne/Manuals/Keithley-2400
(2400S-903-01_E_Sep_2011_QSG.pdf)
The original elog with more configuration infor: http://8id.xray.aps.anl.gov/elog/8-ID/363

Original troubleshooting during D. Cela's beamtime below.

Tricky unit to use frankly. Needs work. After resetting the unit, it
returned reasonable compliance currents and we could set the output to 1 V.
Devin et coworkers are using it as a voltage source.
It can supply +/- 1V as shown in att 1.

Alec,

after some debugging, we were able to apply 2V to their sample with the
Keithley 2400. The controls are not obvious, really minimal. After almost
giving up, we figured out how it works.

Eric,

The Keithley support is running in ioc8ide now.

Re-starting the top 8IDE screens will show the display button
(Keithley/SourceMeter).

Joe,

Is the serial port it is on labeled on the mddm screen? I have not had a
chance to check yet today.

Eric,

Here is a wiki page with the recommended wiring for the rj45 adaptor using
the XM-Octal breakout.

Let me know if there are any questions.
