This entry describes a tensile stage compatible with the Nealey vacuum GIWAXS chamber, with range from 10 to 62 mm. The stage was designed for and commissioned during beamtime with Gang Wang (Marks group, Northwestern U) June 14-16. 2018.
Stage consists of an adapter to mount two Micos VT-21L (26 mm travel) stages onto the vsamx-vsamy stage of the Nealey chamber. Drawings of the adapter are attached. The stage also required two DB-9 vacuum feedthrus for the two Micos VT-21L stages. Used the hole pattern on the Micos stages to hold small binder clips that held the samples for transmission mode WAXS measurements.
Notes on using the stage in Spec:
set up motors 8idg:m18 (xib) and 8idg:m20 (xob)
Define zero as the high limit (minimal extension), and negative motions move both both carriages away from gap/stretch the sample

To get more of the pattern on the detector:
* remove flange on Nealey chamber for vphif, vphic motors and blank off.
* disable th, ccdx
* adjust height of jack under Pilatus to 107 (usually 147) |
