Subject: Can one use the MCS to see 147 Hz
I had a question to Suresh.

There is the direct method, that is plug the signal from the
pin diode after the SR-570 and look at the voltage on a scope.
On pind1, the signal was roughly 1.5V on 10/5/21 for 1D focusing at 11 keV,
so high ~like 7x10^11 ph/s, at 200 uA/V. We observed 0.1V peak to peak.

We have handy a Tektronic 3032 DPO scope with 300 MHz analog bandwidth and 2.5 GS/s with a NIC.
Can it be interfaced in EPICS?
Looks like it might https://epics.anl.gov/modules/instrument/tds3000/index.html.

Yes it can.

Hi Eric,

There is no script, the waveforms can be read via the pvs which are 10k words.
SDDS basically reads these waveform pvs.

Thanks,
Nicholas

I'm also thinking of using the MCS on the 8-ID-I crate to determine the flux variations
and take an FFT from the signal.

How is the Joerger MCS set up, does it takes TTL or NIM pulses?
I forget how the Nova V2F are set up, do you remember if they output TTL or NIM pulses?

NOVA does TTL only. Joerger MCS or Struck MCS, it takes TTL as well.
