Suresh,
I understand the XSPA-500K has been acting up, and my colleagues in Japan are preparing a replacement.
I have been told the replacement should be shipped the week of January 24. Either Taro (Ted) Sera or I
would come to the APS to affect the exchange. Ted worked with Nakaye-san when we installed the detector
in March of 2020, and so has familiarity with the XSPA hardware. Who comes will depend on schedules
and accessibility.
If the detector arrives on time, would the first week of February work for you for the exchange?

I am sorry it took longer to respond than I promised. The detector will ship from the Rigaku factory no later than February 10.
It will come here for inspection then be forwarded to you. The plan is for our local service engineer, Don Sobczak, to effect the
swap. Don worked with Taro Sera and Nakaye-san back when we installed the XSPA. Don’s Argonne contractor safety training should
be good until 05/12/22. Will this apply to the APS?
